The suddenly omnipresent standup Louis C.K. sits down with Terry Gross of WHYY’s Fresh Air. He talks about his critically acclaimed FX show “Louie” (which you should watch), as well as the challenge of rebuilding his life after a divorce.
In a business full of workaholics, C.K. takes his craft to the extreme: In addition to writing, directing, editing, and starring in “Louie,” C.K. is known for throwing out his act each year and building a new hour of material from scratch, a test of endurance that led him to train with boxing legend Micky Ward. And if he doesn’t take home “Best Actor in a Comedy,” the Emmy people deserve a good stiff uppercut.
