Truly wonderful, loving, fine-grained parody of The Beatles story, starring Eric Idle and Neil Innes, with cameos from Michael Palin, Bill Murray and John Belushi, among others (including George Harrison). Like many great leaps forward, this mockumentary was utterly unsuccessful upon its release. Probably the best collaboration between the two great comedy trees of the Seventies, “Saturday Night Live,” and Monty Python.
